Comprised entirely of clips from over 100 Hollywood movies, this experimental short film brings to the foreground the often unnoticed role of cleaners, exposing the systemic biases and power structures they sustain. Through a cosmic power-play between famous protagonists and unknown background artists, Extra Cleaning reveals a glaring juxtaposition that ironically stains a larger social narrative of inherent value. With a playful approach, the film weaves through decades of cinema history, by way of corporate labyrinths and privileged homes, prompting a deeper reflection on the very people whose roles are seemingly disposable yet whose lives and are spent making the American dream shine even brighter.
